Waller, Texas, June 14, 2016 – Green Span Profiles used the company’s own insulated metal wall and roofing panels to add 20,000 square feet of manufacturing space to its Waller, Texas, headquarters and plant.

“The demand for product during the last year precluded the expansion,” says Brian N. Jaks, P.E., Vice President, Sales & Marketing at Green Span Profiles. “The increase in production dictated the need for additional finished goods storage.”

Green Span Profiles’ MesaLine heavy embossed wall panels, measuring 2-1/2 inches thick with a 26-gauge facer and liner were installed. The 42-inch panels were Sandstone in color. The roofing was the company’s RidgeLine standing seam panels, also 42-inches wide and 2-1/2 inches thick with 26-gauge facer and liner, in Regal White III.

RidgeLine is Green Span’s patented, standing-seam roof profile. 2.5-inch thick panels provide an R-20 insulation value.

Drymalla Construction of Columbus, Texas, served as the general contractor for the expansion, while Jedco Building Systems of Houston, furnished and erected the structure and installed the insulated metal roof and wall panels from Green Span Profiles. Al Zuniga, P.E., was the engineer for the project and J.W. Carpenter & Co. of Houston, served as the architect.

The Green Span Profiles facility, originally constructed in 2011, houses the most modern technology available.

The expansion utilized prototype wall panels (heavy embossed MesaLine) which quickly became a standard offering.

Green Span Profiles beefs up FM Approvals for all wall panels

Waller, Texas, March 22, 2016 – Green Span Profiles requested and received Approval for its insulated panels installed using a new fastening pattern at several support spacings, effective February 24, 2016.

Green Span Profiles’ entire line of insulated wall panels earned Approval, including Infinity, Stucco, Impression, MesaLine, VeeLine, WaveLine and ShadowLine. It covers all Green Span panels of all widths, gauges and thicknesses. The spans covered by the approval are from 9 feet to 3 feet, and all spans in between.

The requirements for gaining FM 4881 Approval are quite rigorous. The test protocol models the dynamic wind event of a hurricane. Test specimens are subjected to 4,500 positive air pressure cycles and 4,500 negative air pressure cycles. To gain approval, the wall section must successfully endure the 9,000 pressure cycles and show no signs of cracking or any other signs of failure.

“We’ve been anxiously awaiting this FM Report,” says Brian N. Jaks, P.E., Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Green Span Profiles. “This allows for a higher wind load rating through the use of Fab-Lok back-fasteners with these products.”

The product will appear in the Approval Guide, an online resource of FM Approvals, as follows: Building Insulations – Walls and Ceilings (FM Approval Class Numbers 4411, 4651, 4880, 4881, 4882) and Exterior Wall Constructions (Class Number 4881).
